My name is Maria Campos, and I am a proud digital marketer based in beautiful, sunny Los Angeles, California. I graduated with a double associate degree in business administration and marketing from Los Angeles Valley College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University, Northridge. Over the years, I have worked in the marketing industry, collaborating with esteemed businesses. I am making significant contributions to the noncredit department at Los Angeles Valley College. Additionally, I have worked with various professional departments at California State University, Northridge, and with a diverse range of creative freelancers. Each experience has added to my versatility and skill set.
My Story
Every morning, I wake up inspired and thankful to continue my parents' vision of rewriting the "American Dream." This vision drives me to set daily goals because our routines define who we are. As a learner, I am motivated by the new knowledge and skills I gain daily, using them to make a difference and inspire others through my work and studies.

I am fortunate to be employed in two roles that allow me to build communities and assist non-traditional students. These positions have accelerated my career, teaching me the importance of being a team player, administrator, coordinator, and advocate. Growing up in Mexico, education was always ingrained in me as a means to achieve more significant opportunities. Witnessing my mother's journey and sacrifices to provide a better future for our family inspired me to prioritize my education and strive for excellence.
Coming to the United States and navigating the education system as a first-generation student presented challenges. However, these challenges only fueled my determination to succeed. My cultural background instilled in me values of resilience, hard work, and perseverance, which have been instrumental in overcoming obstacles along my educational journey.
Personal experiences have further solidified my commitment to pursuing a college education. Despite facing financial constraints and balancing academics with multiple part-time jobs, I remained steadfast in pursuing knowledge and personal growth. Each challenge reminded me of the importance of education in breaking cycles of poverty and creating opportunities for future generations.
My immigration status underscored the significance of education as a pathway to achieving the American Dream. I am acutely aware of the privileges and opportunities afforded to me through higher education. I am determined to make the most of them to uplift myself and my community.
My cultural background, family values, high school experiences, and immigration status have influenced my desire to pursue a college education. They have instilled a sense of purpose, resilience, and gratitude, driving me to overcome obstacles and strive for academic and personal success.
